Having issues with the music sticker on your Instagram Story video? It's likely because you adjusted the music time length for a previous Story. When you do this, Instagram saves your previous choices as a future setting.

Here's how to get your Instagram Stories music library working again.

Solution 1: Swap To Photo

Adding a photo to your Story with music added will result in future Story settings being set to 5 seconds by default.

To resolve this, open the Add Photo option and open a new photo from your camera roll (any photo will do!).

Once the new photo is added, you should be able to adjust the music length again and can delete the photo.

Solution 2: Reinstall Instagram

If you've tried our fix above and are still having issues, delete and reinstall the Instagram app. This should revert all settings back to the default 15 seconds.

How To Add Music To Your Instagram Stories

To add music to your Instagram Stories, tap the music note icon on the top right corner.

From here, you can search for tracks within Instagram's music library.

If you want to use the same song on future Stories, you can save your favorite audio using the bookmark icon.

How Long Can Instagram Story Music Be?

Currently Instagram Stories allow up to 15 seconds of music. However, an individual Instagram Story can be up to 60 seconds in length. 

If your Story is 60 seconds long, the 15 second audio clip will repeat during that time.
