Before we look into how to appeal a ban, it's important to first determine why your account has been banned in the first place, and what type of ban you're dealing with.
Shadow Ban
A shadowbanned account is one of the hardest to confirm, due to its unconfirmed nature. Typically, you can log into a shadowbanned account without issue and you won't receive any notice that you have a banned account, but your content won't appear on the For You page or even in front of your followers.

Comment Ban
If you have a history of posting inappropriate comments, your TikTok account may be banned from additional commenting for a certain period of time. Comment bans are often temporary.
Livestream Ban
Creating livestream content that violates TikTok's Community Guidelines can result in a ban from streaming on the TikTok app or desktop site. This is often a temporary ban, but repeat offenses can result in a permanent ban of your TikTok account.
Underage Ban

So now that you know what type of ban you're dealing with, it's time to appeal it. There are four main ways to appeal a TikTok ban. Depending on the type of ban you're attempting to appeal, you may want to opt for an in-app approach, or contacting TikTok directly.
Respond To The Violation Within The App
When you receive an in-app notification about a content violation or a temporary ban, you can often appeal it directly from your app by following the steps below:
- Tap the content ban notification.
- Tap Appeal.
- Fill out the on-screen form and submit your appeal.
Report A Problem Within The App
If you're unable to file a direct appeal, or are dealing with another type of ban, you can report a problem via TikTok settings by following the steps below:
From your profile page, tap the three line menu on the top right corner.
Tap Settings & Privacy.
Tap Report A Problem.
Scroll down and tap Chat With Us.
