No Repost Button on TikTok? 2024 Fix
|
August 7th, 2024 by Terri Pinyerd

Have you lost the ability to repost videos on TikTok? If your TikTok video (or someone else's video) isn't showing the repost button, it could be a simple fix.

Check Behind The Share Button

If you're not able to repost on TikTok directly from the TikTok video, check the Share feature!

First, tap the Share button on the bottom right of the video.

From here you should see a yellow Repost button.

Alternatively, hold down the Share button to see the Repost shortcut, then tap the yellow Repost button.

Keep in mind that this feature may be turned off by the owner of the original video.

Refresh The TikTok App

If you're still not seeing the repost option, make sure that your TikTok app cache is cleared and that you're using the most recent app version.

Steps To Take

  1. Clear app cache via your mobile device settings.

  2. Uninstall and reinstall TikTok

  3. Make sure you're using the most recent version of the TikTok app.

The Creator Has Reposts Turned Off

Can't share someone else's content? Other users have the ability to disable certain features, such as the repost feature. If you're not seeing the feature even after following the steps above, this could be why.

How To Enable Reposts On TikTok

Not seeing the repost feature on your own video? You might not be allowing users to repost from your TikTok profile. To enable reposts, follow the steps below via the TikTok app:

  • From your profile page, tap the three horizontal lines.

  • Tap Settings and Privacy

  • Tap Privacy.

  • Scroll down to the Interactions section. If you see the Repost option here, click it and toggle it on. Keep in mind that not everyone has the option to toggle Reposts on/off, so you might not see the option in your settings.

You Have Account Restrictions

If you share videos at a pace that TikTok considers too rapid, you might have restrictions applied to your profile. This could be temporary, usually about 24 hours, or longer, depending on the severity of the offense and whether or not it's your first restriction. In this case, all you can do is wait!

Other causes for restrictions include copyright infringement; engagement spam due to likes, comments, or rapid following; or a violation of TikTok's terms of service.

If you're not sure why your account has been restricted, you can contact TikTok support.

Be mindful of how often you repost, stick to sharing only interesting content and avoid reposting just for the sake of it.
