Check If Facebook Still Has Access To Photos
If you're trying to add images or video to a specific post, make sure that the Facebook app still has the required permissions to access content on your device. While this can vary depending on your mobile device, the following steps should apply:
- Access the Settings app.
- Navigate to Facebook.
- Tap Permissions > Photos & Videos (or Camera)
- Toggle ON or Allow.
Check If Your Third Party App Is Still Authenticated
Post scheduling apps require regular authentication from your Facebook profile or page. If you're not able to create and publish a post from a third party app, ensure that they still have the required permissions, either through the app settings or from your Facebook account settings by following the steps below:
Select Settings & Privacy > Settings.
Scroll down to Your Activity & Permissions and select Business Integrations.
From here you'll see a list of apps and sites that have been connected to your profile. If the app shows Expired beneath the name you'll need to reauthenticate.
Click View And Edit.
Toggle on the permissions you wish to grant the app and hit Save.
You're Logged Into The Wrong Account
Trying to post to a page or group? Make sure you're posting from the correct account! If you have multiple linked profiles or pages, you might have permissions on one that you lack on another.
Your Account Had A Role Removed
If you're not able to post on a group or page, it might be because your profile was removed from a page or group role. You'll have to confirm this with the group or page owner.
Your Account Was Disabled Or Suspended
Violating Facebook's community standards can result in your account being temporarily suspended from posting. Usually in this case you wouldn't be able to log in at all, but in rare instances you can still access the app with limited posting abilities.
The best way to go about this is to contact Facebook from their help center to determine the cause of your suspension. If they confirm that your account has been suspended, you'll be able to submit an appeal within a certain timeframe and get posting permissions back if successful.
The Facebook App Is Bugging
Sometimes the Facebook app is the one having issues! The first thing you should do is check the Facebook status page on Downdetector to determine whether or not a widespread issue is occurring. If that's the case, all you can do is wait.
If not, run through our general troubleshooting steps to see if the matter is resolved.
