Noticing a blue dot near your Facebook friend's profile picture? It's a visual indicator that you haven't watched that particular Story yet, similar to an unread message notification.
How To Hide Stories On Facebook

Open Facebook Messenger.
Click your profile picture on the bottom left corner.
Click Preferences.
Click Active Status: ON , then toggle it OFF.
Click Save.
Mobile

Tap the three lines on the top left corner.
Tap the gear icon on the top right to open Settings.
Tap Active Status.
Toggle it OFF.
