Curious about the metrics you're seeing in your Pin Stats section? Here's what each stat means, plus how to make the most of them for your Pinterest marketing strategy.
How To Access Pin Stats
Pin Stats are not the same as Pinterest analytics. They appear on individual pins, and only show metrics relevant to that specific pin.
To access Pin Stats you'll need a Pinterest business account. Keep in mind that you can only view Pin Stats for Pins created by your account.
You can view your metrics at the top of the pin screen on the Pinterest app or desktop site, or click See More Stats to open a drop down menu and view additional information on your Pinterest performance.
mpressions (1)
Impressions measure the total number of times your Pins were on screen and potentially seen by a user.
When it comes to impressions, you should aim to have an engagement rate close to the total number of impressions. If your impressions are much higher than your total number of clicks or other forms of user engagement, it may be a sign to adjust your Pinterest strategy for future pins.
Pin Clicks (2)
A pin click indicates that a user clicked your pin to view more. Clicking a pin may take a user to a destination URL, but a pin click will still be generated even if the user remains on Pinterest.
Pin clicks are a key metric. Regardless of your Pinterest strategy you should track pin clicks and adjust your Pinterest marketing efforts accordingly. A low pin click count might mean you need to focus on creating more visually appealing pins, adjust your content to appeal to your target audience, or boost your Pinterest presence overall.
Saves (3)
The saves metric measures the number of times a user saved your pin to a board. In other words, saving is the same thing as "pinning". This is another key metric, as the entire point of Pinterest is to pin content!
Low saves might mean your content isn't appearing high in the Pinterest search results, or that it's not appealing to the Pinterest algorithm in some way.
Outbound Clicks (4)
Outbound clicks are another form of Pin clicks data that indicate the number of times a user clicked a pin that led them to a destination outside of Pinterest. This could be a blog post, online shop, or another social media platform.
Keep in mind that this metric only applies to organic pins that include a destination URL, so if you don't publish pins with outbound URLs, this isn't something you need to be concerned with.
Profile Visits
This metric indicates how many users visited your profile after viewing your pin. This can help you determine your top pins and adjust your Pinterest strategy accordingly.
Follows
Follows indicate how many followers you gained from a specific pin.
Reactions
This indicates the number of times a user reacted to your pin, which can be a great way to gauge user interest.
Reactions include:
-

-

-

-

-

Video Pin Stats
Video pins include all of the aforementioned metrics, as well as some additional audience insights.
Video views
To generate a video view, a user must have your pin at least in 50% view and watch at least 2 continuous seconds of it.
10-second plays
This shows how many times a user viewed your video pin for at least 10 seconds.
Played at 95%
This shows the number of times a user viewed at least 95% the length of your video pin. Note that if a user skips ahead to the end, this still counts.
