Social media platforms like YouTube have often offered a viewing history feature, allowing users to access a list of the recent videos or posts that they watched or interacted with.

Instagram allows users to access their history for certain types of engagement, including:

• Recent searches

• Recently engaged with posts (including likes, comments, link clicks, saves, and more)

Recent Searches

You can view a list of your recently searched keywords by simply tapping or clicking the search bar on either the Instagram app or desktop site. This will bring up a drop down menu with a list of your most recent searches.

You can clear all searches or remove individual searches by tapping the X icon to the right of the keyword.

Recently Engaged With Posts

You can access a list of all the posts you recently engaged with - through likes, comments, link clicks, comments, tags, and sticker responses, via the Your Activity section on Instagram.

Accessing Your Activity Tab

• Open the Instagram app.

• Visit your profile page by tapping your profile icon.

• Click the hamburger icon on the top right corner.

• Tap Your Activity.

From here, you will be able to see the types of engagement. Clicking on each one will bring up the content that you engaged with recently.

Accessing Your Saved Posts

• Open the Instagram app.

• Visit your profile page by tapping your profile icon.

• Click the hamburger menu on the top right corner.

• Tap Saved.

From here you will be able to see all posts that you used the Save feature on, denoted by the bookmark icon.

Instagram Reels Watch History

As of 2024, there is no dedicated Instagram video watch history feature, but many users opt to maintain a record of their recently watched Reels by liking or saving them, which you can access via the Your Activity tab using the instructions outlined above.
