Whether you’re managing a Facebook page for business or just for fun, you can hide your page from the general public by deactivating it. This will temporarily make it invisible - including to anyone currently following it.
Deactivate (Hide) Your Facebook Page
Deactivating your page won’t delete it - when you want your page to be visible again, simply repeat the steps below either on the Facebook website or mobile app and reactivate your page.
On Desktop
Open your Facebook page from the desktop website. Make sure you’re logged in to a profile that has admin permissions on the page.
Click the user profile picture on the top right corner.
Click Settings & Privacy > Settings.
Under Your Information click Access & Control.
Select Deactivate Page and click CONTINUE.
From here, select the reason for deactivation.
Selecting ‘This is temporary’ will allow you to set a re-enable date up to 7 days in the future. If you want to deactivate indefinitely, choose any of the remaining reasons. These will require you to reactivate your page manually.
On Mobile
You can also adjust Facebook page settings via the Facebook app.
Switch into the profile that manages the page you want to deactivate.
Tap the gear icon on the top right corner to select settings.
Scroll down to Your Information in the left menu tab and tap Access & Control.

Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between deleting and deactivating a page?
Deactivating your Facebook page simply hides it from public view. Deleting it removes it entirely and is permanent - if you change your mind after deleting a Facebook page you’ll have to make a new page and start fresh.
Can you deactivate pages for other social media platforms?
Yes - just like Facebook, other platforms offer users the ability to deactivate their accounts rather than delete them outright.
