Whether someone has posted harmful content, impersonated you, or violated Facebook's Community Guidelines, there are a few ways that you can request removal of Facebook posts.

Contact The Poster Directly

Facebook's official support guidelines recommend contacting the Facebook users behind the offending post or page admin directly for assistance in deleting the post.

However, in instances of harassment or bullying, it's likely that this won't do much good. In this case, you'll need to report the post or page directly, which you can do by following the steps outlined below.

Report A Post

You can report a post (regular, photo, or video) on both desktop and the Facebook mobile app by tapping the three dots on the top right corner and clicking Report.

Follow the on screen steps to provide additional feedback or evidence as requested. Depending on the context of the situation, Meta may require screenshots, links, or other forms of evidence to facilitate a resolution.

Report A Page

Access the page you wish to report.

Beneath the cover photo, click the three dots.

Click either Find Support or Report.

Follow the on screen steps to provide additional feedback or evidence as requested. Depending on the context of the situation, Meta may require screenshots, links, or other forms of evidence to facilitate a resolution.

How To Remove An Imposter Page

If someone is pretending to be your or your business, you can request removal of the imposter page by following the steps below.

First, consider creating your own Facebook page under the name of your business or identity. Complete the steps for Facebook page verification before sending your report, to help speed up the review process.

Complete the page reporting steps outlined here.

Paste the link to your own verified Facebook page as well as a link to the impersonator page. At the bottom you will be able to upload screenshots that include evidence of your ownership and the impersonator's violation.

Submit your report!

How To Request Another Review Of Your Report

If you're not happy with Facebook's decision on your report, you can request another review by following the steps below:

Click your profile picture on the top right corner.

Click Help & Support > Support Inbox.

Click Reports About Others.

Open the message regarding the decision on your report.

Click See Options.

If available, you can click Request Another Review and follow the on-screen steps.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why didn't Facebook delete the content that I reported?

It's possible that Meta determined that the content you reported did not violate their Terms of Service or Community Guidelines. However, even Meta makes mistakes. If you feel that the content does violate these guidelines, you can request another review of your report by following the steps here.

What kind of content does Facebook NOT delete?

Facebook won't delete content that you simply don't like. The content in question must violate Facebook's Community Guidelines (i.e harassment, bullying, graphic content, etc) in order to be removed.

Will I get in trouble for making false reports on Facebook?

Users who repeatedly make false reports on Facebook run the risk of having their account restricted, or even banned entirely. False reports are considered spam and are therefore subject to the same policy.
