How To Share An Instagram Post To Your Instagram Stories
From your Instagram App, tap the share button on the Instagram post you want to share.
Tap Add to Story.
There are two different post layout when sharing a post on your Instagram stories. You can change it by tapping the post.
Note: You cannot change the layout of the post on Android when sharing a video post.
Translucent And Solid Background Color
Tap the three horizontal lines then tap Draw.
If you want to use a solid color, tap the pen icon (first icon). If you want to use a translucent color, tap the Highlighter tool (third icon).
Scroll through the color palette at the bottom of the screen then tap the desired solid color.
Long press anywhere on the screen until the background color changes.
How To Choose From Color Gradient
You can choose from the Color gradient if your desired color is not on the default color palette.
To do that, long press a color on the palette until the color gradient appears.
How To Pick Color From The Post
Brand colors are important for a brand identity. To create a more coherent appearance, you can pick a color from the colors present on the photo post.
Tap the eyedropper tool.
Move the inverted teardrop to the color you want then long press anywhere on the screen until the background color changes.
Tap Done.
Image Background
From your Camera Roll, go to the photo you want for your background image then Click Copy Photo.
Tap anywhere outside the post then tap the vertical line that will show.
Tap Paste.
Pan the background photo to the desired size then tap Done if you are using Android. On an iPhone, it will automatically apply.
Long press on the photo then drag up and down to reorder layers and get the Instagram story background image underneath.

Use GIFs And Photo Sticker Feature
To give your Instagram stories more emphasis and make it more eye-catching, add elements like GIF and use the Photo Sticker feature.
This can be done by clicking sticker button then click GIF or Cutouts.
Use Canva And Pinterest For Graphics
Canva has a lot of Instagram Stories Templates which you can customize to your liking. Pinterest on the other hand, has a lot of high-quality photos which you can use for inspiration or as an Image background.

While stories disappear after 24 hours, you can add it to your highlights to retain it on your profile.
