A TikTok appeal can take anywhere from 24 to 72 hours to be processed, though this can vary depending on several factors and some users have reported response times ranging from a few hours to even weeks.
However, TikTok video strikes expire after a 90 day period, so users can expect to receive a response regarding a ban or strike within this time period.
How To File A TikTok Appeal
You can submit a TikTok appeal via the TikTok app.
- First, open the video that received the strike.
- Tap Community Guidelines Violation: See Details to open the pop up menu.
- Tap Submit An Appeal.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
IMPORTANT: Do not delete the video that received the strike, or TikTok will not be able to review your appeal.
What To Do If Your TikTok Appeal Is Rejected
Did TikTok respond to your appeal with a rejection? If you believe this was a mistake you have several options.
Move On & Learn From Your Mistake!
If your video was deleted for a community violation, let it go and ensure that you don't repeat the same mistake in future videos. Be sure to review TikTok's community guidelines, and avoid including copyrighted audio or other elements.
Create A New Account
If your entire account was banned, or you've received strikes on more than one upload, consider creating a new account to start fresh.
Keep in mind that this may be in violation of TikTok's terms of service, depending on the nature of your ban. You can learn more about that here.
